Advanced and Accommodating: A Refreshed North Shore Home

One of our ongoing projects this year, VIKON’s renovation work for this well-situated Glenfield home is something that is continually demonstrating high standards. It is a thorough renovation project that involves extensive room conversions, fixture upgrades, and new installations. The vision for this project was to create a more accommodating home – both in terms of bedroom count but also connectivity, such as the rearrangement and refurbishment of existing rooms.

Part of the project involves comprehensive kitchen and bathroom upgrades, as well as splitting what was once a rumpus room into three separate rooms – two of which are to be bedrooms with new wardrobes. This involves the installation of several walls and a bunch of new cabinetry. Knowing the client’s vision for a more accommodating home, we tailored our solution to make the most of space provided, while rearranging the facility layout to optimise for navigability and convenience. The bathroom-adjacent storage room is being transformed into a laundry room to free up some much-needed space by relocating washing unit positions.

Collaborating with our good friends at ENH Windows, we aim to deliver a comprehensive suite of 21 window upgrades across the entire home. With tackling New Zealand’s famously temperamental climate in mind, the upgrade to double glazing is scheduled to finish perfectly on time. The windows feature Altus’s Tasman35™ window system, offering enhanced structural performance, weather resilience, and modern aesthetics to match the renewed home. One of the coolest additions is the new proposed deck, which stretches from the garage to the bathroom and comes complete with its own pergola – providing both shelter and elegance to a splendid backyard view.

The bathrooms will see an extensive facelift, to bring forth brand new fixtures atop the upgraded tiles and walls. This includes a Modena Wall-Hung Vanity, an Elementi Basin Mixer in chrome, and a Bianca backlit LED mirror – not to mention a redone shower with all new Elementi fixtures.

An incredible range of kitchen appliances are also scheduled to complement our refurbishment. The new kitchen features a Series 6 dishwasher by Bosch, a high-tech FOTILE rangehood, and a stealthy induction cooktop by ROBAM, as well as many others. Each unit possesses an incredibly advanced appearance with an equally impressive feature-set, making for a kitchen that looks more than modern. While many of our renovations aim for a timeless aesthetic, this kitchen has a specific time in mind, and that time is the future.
