Extensive Toilet Refurbishments at Unitec

In early 2025, VIKON’s BoxMakers division performed an extensive refurbishment for 27 toilets across multiple buildings in Unitec’s Mt Albert campus. The project aimed to modernise not only the aging facilities, but the rooms as a whole, including the walls, basins, tapware, pipework, mirrors, lighting, and more.

Taking place across buildings B112, B114, and B115, this project called for dozens of toilets, sinks, and cubicles across multiple rooms, including male, female, accessible, and all-gender bathrooms.

During this project, our expert carpenters were able to optimise the project while also identifying areas of improvement, such as adding opposed blade dampers to the ventilation system. Calling upon trusted brands for their specialties, including door hardware from Dormakaba, Amibus LED lights, and KerMac cubicles, BoxMakers were able to carefully curate each individual component to form a cohesive whole.

The end result was thoroughly transformative – everything from the walls and floors to the lighting and fixtures had been completely revitalised, making for bright, modern, and most importantly, comfortable toilets.
