Harmony & Return

This investment project, located in the growing community of Pukekohe, showcases VIKON’s expertise in delivering high-quality, market-ready homes that appeal to entry-level and first-home buyers.

Designed and built by the VIKON team, this flat offers a smart and efficient layout that combines affordability with architectural charm, ideal for both residents and investors seeking solid returns.

Combining the weatherboard-centric style of modern New Zealand homes, with a traditional Chinese-style courtyard, the home achieves a fusion architectural style that blends the best of local modernity with refreshing serenity, and a touch of foreign inspiration. This culturally influenced design fosters a sense of harmony and connection, creating an inviting environment for modern family living.

With excellent sunlight, open-plan spaces, and a layout tailored for comfort and practicality, this property stands out as a strong investment opportunity in a high-demand segment of the market.

VIKON aimed to equip this home with everything a new homeowner or investor could ask for. Being a single-storey home, we sought to make the most of the lot’s space, providing room for four bedrooms – all with wardrobes designed by our in-house cabinetry team. The master bedroom features a full ensuite alongside a walk-in wardrobe, making for a premium flagship bedroom experience.

Interconnectedness was a core theme of this build. Every sketch, drawing, and plan was designed with the purpose of fostering connectivity, wherever you may be in the home. This is realised through the courtyard-centric design and the abundance of sliding doors that join it to the home. This includes the master suite, bedroom hall, and garage.

The precise use of GIB’s plasterboard, such as their Standard, Aqualine, and Wideline series, facilitated a diverse range of environment-appropriate applications. This allowed the home to feature incredible integrity, acoustic performance, and water resistance. The roof underlay features Thermakraft’s Covertek 407 solution, which provides strict resistance against fire, condensation, and water ingress. We again worked with our partners at ENH for their window expertise.

The resulting home exhibits a blend of both local and international design cues, while being built with all the features and tools of a modern New Zealand home. Behind the deceptively modest façade, a highly capable and featureful home rests behind.
