Rural Transformation for Modern Living
In transforming this once-antiquated rural residence into a highly functional and modern space, VIKON performed extensive renovation work across both the foundations, interiors, and exteriors.
Among our most exciting projects was the large-scale renovation of a rural home in Matakana. While the locale already featured breathtakingly refreshing views of the New Zealand countryside, the renovation sought to transform the property to a highly-equipped residence complete with a modern feature-set, including a spa, sunlight tunnel, and custom kitchen.
Extensive Changes
The scope of the project was remarkably large for a renovation, including significant work to the foundation, framing, and roofing, not to mention the interior overhaul, making the residence appear as a new home altogether. With the location being in a very high wind zone, special care was taken when considering the roof cladding and exterior weatherboard. VIKON’s vision for this project featured extensive resilience to the elements and structural soundness, taking into account the locale’s weather tendencies.
Modernised Rural Living
Despite the rural location, the interiors are deceptively high-tech. Featuring custom backlit cabinetry, LED bathroom wall scones, and a skylight sun tunnel for the foyer, the end result is completely unrecognisable from the original. The custom kitchen and joinery work was done by our in-house experts. Wholly redone, the kitchen featured 20mm quartz for its benchtop, custom finger-pull cabinets with flying shelves, and a custom rangehood unit complete with hidden cabinetry and mirror finish panels.
A Rural Relaxation Getaway
While the bathroom alone is impressive with its angular sinks and modern faucets, the centrepiece of the revitalisation project is the spa. VIKON oversaw all the structural accommodations for this luxurious unit, including the foundation pads, concrete steps, and footings. Featuring 4 jets and underwater LED lighting, this spa unit accommodates unparallelled relaxation accompanied by stunning views of the Matakana countryside.
A complete reimagining of the household, VIKON are proud to have worked on this transformative renovation project. The once-antiquated residence is now a paragon of luxury and modern living. It also features a mini Zen garden.
