Collaborating with the owners every step of the way, we oversaw everything from design, consultation, and scheduling, to construction, which involved a full fit-out and the careful implementation of medical-grade systems. The limited space meant clever design work had to be undertaken to ensure the comfortable implementation of necessary spaces.

Being a dental facility, considerable care was taken to ensure the exact installation of crucial systems such as the HVAC, insulation, electrical, and safety systems. Of particular note were the treatment rooms, which required specification-adherent dental chairs, storage cabinets, and medical gas connections.

Dental clinics also require specialized health and safety compliance, including radiation shielding and sterilization areas. Special care had to be taken to ensure regulatory standards were met, which we addressed by maintaining close communication with stakeholders and project specialists every step of the way.

Great care was taken when designing the reception area. From scratch, we started by selecting a colour palette that focused on the themes of calmness and naturality. We all know the feelings and fears associated with dentist visits, so we took a customer-centric perspective and introspectively assessed the colours and designs that would assuage as many people as possible.

Through careful design, material selection, and theme consistency, we achieved a look that focused on calming, gradually easing curves. This applied to the shelves, waiting areas, and reception desk. The colours were comprised of a soft grey for the walls, with wood-patterned hardwood flooring and sandy beige seating. This natural aesthetic is accentuated by the greenery of potted plants and paintings of sunny autumn forestry.

To conclude, our highly involved capacity during this light commercial project, which included comprehensive consultations, explanations, and briefs, as well as full schedules and designs, allowed for a high level of operational control, resulting in a beautifully realised dental clinic within budget. Not only did it meet consumer and regulatory requirements, but it also delivered a stellar aesthetic result thanks to our expert designers and joinery professionals.
