Fully Renovated Engineering Room
VIKON and BoxMakers demonstrated exceptional prowess in developing specialty spaces for schools through this engineering room project for Long Bay College. This thorough overhaul encompassed a broad range of upgrades, including nearly every fixture on the workshop floor.

Citing an absence of change for the past 25 years, the T10 engineering space was much in need of a rework. The windows, walls, ceiling, and floors all saw substantial work, with the final room looking completely unrecognisable. The workshop adopted a new steel grey and warm white colour scheme, modernising its appearance. This, of course, wouldn’t be complete without the addition of new lighting, benches, boards, and doors.
The new heavy-duty flooring was equipped with six solid-surface benches with attached vices. BoxMakers were especially involved in the creation of the sink unit, which was custom made with plywood, and fitted with a triple-faucet benchtop by Classic Stainless Steel. Our joinery team also fashioned a number of new shelves and cupboards, on top of installing a series of metal mesh tall cabinets as well as a welding bay.
Our work at Long Bay College was a highly special project that modernised the engineering room and almost all of its fixtures, setting a benchmark for aesthetics, practicality, and health & safety.
